Medininagar, Jharkhand:
A person, aged 40, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly raping a seven-year-old woman in Jharkhand’s Palamu district, police stated.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening in a locality, round 180 km away from the state capital Ranchi, a senior officer stated.
“The woman was alone at dwelling when the accused got here to her residence to produce milk. She was lured with a promise of exhibiting one thing on the milkman’s cell phone. The accused took her to an adjoining under-construction home the place he allegedly dedicated the crime,” extra superintendent of police Rishav Garg stated.
The mother and father of the woman lodged a grievance with the Town Police Station.
“Taking swift motion, the accused was arrested and forwarded to jail on Sunday,” he stated.
The woman was despatched to Medininagar Medical College and Hospital for examination, the officer added.
