New Delhi:

IT Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Tuesday launched a grievance appellate panel mechanism, that may look into appeals by customers in opposition to selections of social media platforms.

The digital platform, Grievance Appellate Committee (GAC), is a strong software for making certain accountability of platforms to their customers, Rajeev Chandrasekhar instructed reporters.

“This is yet another milestone within the evolving framework to make sure web is open, protected and trusted,” he mentioned.

IT guidelines had been strengthened in October to pave the best way for formation of the Centre-appointed panels to settle often-ignored consumer grievances in opposition to the best way social media platforms addressed their complaints relating to content material and different issues.
