The demise of an Assam police sub-inspector has taken a political flip with the Congress searching for a probe by a central company, and CM Himanta Biswa Sarma saying the policewoman’s household will likely be provided that possibility. Sarma mentioned a CID staff could be in contact with Junmoni Rabha’s household for the main points. “If they are still dissatisfied with the probe, then we can hand the case over to CBI; we do not have any objections,” he mentioned.
Junmoni Rabha, a sub-inspector with the Assam police, died round 2 am on Tuesday when her automobile collided with a truck in Nagaon district. Earlier that night time, Rabha had been accused in a case of extortion and dacoity.
According to police, Rabha was alone in her personal automobile, wearing civil garments and seemed to be driving in direction of Upper Assam.
Her relations, nonetheless, have raised questions. “She had been in Guwahati that morning and she had left for Nagaon with our mother around 9:30 am… There was no reason for her to leave the house so late in the night,” mentioned her brother Karuna Rabha.
Assam DGP GP Singh had mentioned on Tuesday: “…In the wake of request of a fair probe…it has been decided to transfer investigation to CID Assam.”
