Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s sister Arpita Khan filed a grievance after her diamond-studded gold jewelry value round Rs 5 lakh was allegedly stolen from her home in suburban Khar in Mumbai, following which the police arrested her home assist, an official stated on Wednesday.
The incident passed off on Monday and the 30-year-old accused was arrested the following day from neighbouring Thane district, he stated.
“Accused Sandip Hegde decamped with diamond-studded gold jewelry value round Rs 5 lakh from Arpita Khan’s residence situated on seventeenth Road in Khar. After the incident got here to gentle, Arpita approached the police and lodged a grievance,” the official of Khar police station stated.
Based on her grievance, the police launched a probe and scanned the CCTV footage from the world, he stated.
“With the assistance of technical and different inputs, the police nabbed the accused on Tuesday from Thane for the alleged theft of the jewelry,” the official stated.
A case was registered towards him beneath sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), together with 381 (theft by clerk or servant), he stated, including that additional investigation is being carried out.
