Flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport have been affected this morning resulting from heavy rain and inclement climate.
The airport authorities have suggested the individuals to contact the airways for getting up to date flight info.
“Due to unhealthy climate, flight operations are impacted at Delhi Airport. It is advisable to contact the airways involved for up to date flight info,” the Delhi Airport stated in a press release in the present day.
Meanwhile, components of Delhi-NCR witnessed heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds this morning.
The sudden change in climate is anticipated to carry respite from the new climate situations prevailing over North India.
India Meteorological Department predicted the rains and thunderstorms in Delhi and its surrounding areas.
“Thunderstorms/Duststorms with gentle to reasonable depth rain and gusty winds with velocity of 40-70 Km/h would happen over and adjoining areas of the complete Delhi, NCR (Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Bahadurgarh, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabhgarh) Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Narwana, Karnal, Rajaund, Assandh, Safidon, Barwala, Panipat, Adampur, Hissar, Gohana, Gannaur, Siwani, Meham, Sonipat, Tosham, Rohtak, Kharkhoda, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Jhajjar, Loharu, Farukhnagar, Kosali, Mahendargarh, Sohana, Rewari, Palwal, Narnaul, Bawal, Nuh, Aurangabad, Hodal (Haryana) Gangoh, Deoband, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Kandhla, Khatauli, Baraut, Daurala, Bagpat, Meerut, Khekra, Modinagar, Kithor, Garhmukteshwar, Pilakhua, Hapur, Gulaoti, Siyana, Sikandrabad, Bulandshahar, Jahangirabad, Khurja, Gabhana, Jattari (U.P.) Sidhmukh, Pilani, Bhiwari, Jhunjunu, Tizara, Khairthal, Kotputli, Alwar, and Viratnagar (Rajasthan) throughout the subsequent 2 hours,” India Meteorological Department stated.
The climate division additionally predicted rain in Delhi for the subsequent two to a few days and no warmth wave is predicted till May 30.
IMD had earlier stated that the rainfall throughout India within the month of June will stay ‘Below regular’ ranges including that states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Odisha, and northern India will witness above-normal temperatures.
