A constable was injured when a person accused of stealing cell phones allegedly attacked him whereas a police group was making an attempt to arrest him in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, an official stated on Thursday.

The incident happened at Valiv in Vasai space on Tuesday night when the police laid a entice and have been ready to apprehend the person, recognized as Sharukh Yasin Sardar (22), who was to come back to the spot to promote the stolen cell phones, senior police inspector Rahul Rakh instructed PTI.

When the police group noticed the person and tried to catch him, he allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked a constable, inflicting accidents on his hand, he stated.
