Man Cheats Gujarat Trader By Replacing Diamonds With Gutka Packets

A person was arrested for allegedly dishonest a diamond dealer in Gujarat’s Surat metropolis by changing the dear stones price Rs 32 lakh stored in parcels with gutka packets, an official stated.

Trader Rushabh Vora in his police criticism stated the accused, Raheel Manjani, labored as a diamond dealer and took him into confidence to acquire polished, spherical and pure high quality diamonds price Rs 32,04,442 from his workplace beneath the pretext of promoting them to a different dealer.

The dealer collected the diamonds in three sealed parcels between February 13 and 21, 2023, and paid Rs 2 lakh to Vora as token cash, the dealer stated within the criticism filed at Mahidharpara police station.

Vora stated the accused then advised him that he’ll make the remaining cost in three-four days.

When the cost was not made, Vora requested for his parcels and it was determined to open the three sealed parcels in entrance of the dealer.

However, Vora was shocked to seek out packets of gutka, chewing tobacco, within the parcels rather than the diamonds, the criticism acknowledged.

Vora alleged the dealer took him into confidence and conspired with one other diamond dealer to cheat him by changing the diamonds with gutka.

The accused was booked beneath Indian Penal Code Sections 420 (dishonest) and 409 (prison breach of belief). A probe was underway into the offence and to seek out out if different merchants had been concerned in it, the police stated.
