Rupee Slips 3 Paise To 82.12 Against US Dollar In Early Trade

The rupee declined 3 paise to 82.12 towards the US greenback in early commerce on Friday, weighed down by a destructive pattern in home equities.

However, a weak dollar towards main rivals abroad and protracted overseas capital inflows supported the home forex and restricted the loss, merchants mentioned.

At the interbank overseas trade, the native unit opened weak at 82.11 towards the greenback and slipped additional to 82.12, registering a fall of three paise over its earlier shut.

On Thursday, the rupee closed at 82.09 towards the US forex.

Meanwhile, the greenback index, which gauges the dollar’s power towards a basket of six currencies, slipped 0.04 per cent to 101.83.

In the home fairness market, the 30-share BSE Sensex fell 312.99 factors or 0.51 per cent to 61,591.53 in early commerce on Friday. The broader NSE Nifty declined 93.50 factors or 0.51 per cent to 18,203.50.

Brent crude futures, the worldwide oil benchmark, declined 0.59 per cent to USD 74.54 per barrel.

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) have been internet consumers within the capital market on Thursday as they bought shares price Rs 837.21 crore, based on trade information.
